Pop princess

Selena Gomez recorded her first song while working on her Disney projects, including soundtracks and opening tracks for her series and the family movie "Another Cinderella Story". In 2009 she gathered a pop band called Selena Gomez & The Scene and signed a record deal with Hollywood Records. The band released 2 albums, in 2009 ("Kiss & Tell") and 2010 ("A Year Without Rain"), both became Gold Records. At the same time, Gomez continued working on her own TV program, performed in her first theatre production and maintained highly publicized relationship with another pop idol – Justin Bieber. In 2011 she completed the shooting of the last season of The Wizards of Waverly Place and released another band album – "When the Sun Goes Down". After finalizing these 2 big projects she decided to take a break from music and focus on her maturing as an actress beyond the teen star status.

Coming to the front of a stage – as adult solo star

In 2013 Gomez presented the first album as a solo artist "Stars Dance". The difference in music was evident, varied stylistically, including elements of Dubstep, R&B and EDM. The album became a turning point in her life, because at that point she fired her managers (we are also happened to be her parents) and decided not to continue working with Hollywood Records. She signed a new contract with Interscope Records and released the last album she was obligated by the contract with Hollywood Records, "For You" a hit collection promoted by a new single  "The Heart Wants what it Wants", which gained Platinum status.

Second solo album

The second album by Selena Gomez "Revival" was released in 2015 after a long soul-searching. The singer co-wrote 11 of the 16 tracks, all dealing with her personal struggle, having to grow up and leading personal life in the spotlight. The album had 3 singles: "Good for you", "Same Old Love" and "Hands to Myself". The album was promoted by tour in spring-summer 2016, while the second part was supposed to happen in August-December, but was canceled for an unknown reason.
