Karl-Heinz ‘Charly’ Körbel is one of the most famous players to have ever played for Eintracht Frankfurt. He made a club record number of appearances for the club, scoring 67 goals. Körbel played for the club for his entire footballing career, and was part of the team that won the UEFA Cup in 1980.
Bernd Hölzenbein is another legend of Eintracht Frankfurt. He played for the team from 1967 until 1981, making over 400 appearances for the club.
Rivalries
Eintracht Frankfurt and Kickers Offenbach are two of the most well-known rivals in German football. The two clubs are based in the state of Hesse and have a long history of competition. They played each other in the 1959 German championship final, where Eintracht Frankfurt came out on top. Due to spending most of their time in different divisions, the two clubs have only played two league matches in the last 40 years.
