Best StubHub Alternatives for Sports and Event Tickets

Written by Aviran Zazon

Fanatix is our best overall StubHub alternative, combining a similarly broad ticket marketplace with an excellent buying interface and particularly responsive customer service.

Hellotickets is another strong option, especially for customers attending sporting events or concerts during a city break. SportsEvents365 is worth considering if you prefer dealing with a ticket specialist rather than navigating a large resale marketplace independently.

All three have featured in Ticket-Compare.com's 2026 supplier listings, making them practical alternatives for buyers comparing tickets for major events.

Below, we'll assess their event coverage, websites, customer service and guarantees, including how their prices compare for the same football match.

1FanatixBest overallSimilar marketplace, with excellent usability and faster support in our test
2HelloticketsEvents and city breaksCombines event tickets with sightseeing, attractions and tours
3SportsEvents365Personal customer serviceTraditional ticket broker with greater emphasis on human assistance

Fanatix comes closest to reproducing StubHub's overall buying experience, while Hellotickets and SportsEvents365 cater to different priorities.

One important point to make is that our comparison centres on StubHub International, which operates separately from the North American StubHub business.

For someone primarily buying American sports tickets, the most appropriate alternative may be different from the best choice for Premier League football, European Formula 1 races or Wimbledon.

What Makes a Good StubHub Alternative?

StubHub has built its reputation on more than simply offering tickets to sold-out events.

Its international marketplace brings together independent buyers and sellers across football, Formula 1, tennis, concerts, theatre and numerous other events. Sellers determine their prices, and buyers can compare different seats and ticket quantities.

In our hands-on StubHub review, we awarded the website 5/5 for ease of use, highlighting its detailed stadium plans, precise seating information, filters and ability to display prices with fees included.

Customer service received a more modest 3/5, leaving room for competitors to offer a more personal or responsive experience.

We therefore assessed the alternatives against five criteria:

  • Event coverage: Football, Formula 1, tennis, American sports, concerts and entertainment.
  • Marketplace model: Whether tickets come from independent sellers or a traditional broker.
  • Buying experience: Seating plans, filters, ticket quantities, fees and checkout.
  • Customer service: Contact options and performance in our own testing.
  • Buyer guarantees: What happens when tickets cannot be supplied or an event is cancelled.

We also looked for evidence that the alternatives actually feature in Ticket-Compare.com's ticket comparisons, rather than relying on similarity between their websites alone.

Best StubHub Alternatives Compared

1. Fanatix: Best overall StubHub alternative

Fanatix is the strongest alternative for someone who appreciates StubHub's wide event selection but would welcome a simpler interface and more responsive customer service.

The two websites operate along similar lines. Fanatix connects buyers with independent individuals and businesses selling tickets, with sellers setting their own prices.

Its catalogue covers Premier League and European football, Formula 1, tennis, rugby, basketball, American football and concerts.

This is particularly important because plenty of resale websites offer excellent football coverage without coming close to matching StubHub's broader entertainment offering.

The interface is one of Fanatix's biggest advantages.

Our Fanatix review awarded it 5/5 for ease of use, matching StubHub's score.

Interactive venue plans show which sections have tickets available, while individual listings explain seating categories and quantities. You can inspect your options without navigating an unnecessarily complicated booking process.

Guest checkout and PayPal payments are also available.

Where Fanatix really distinguished itself was customer service.

We contacted the company with a question about reselling unwanted tickets and received a substantive reply in under ten minutes. It earned 5/5 for customer support, compared with StubHub's 3/5 in our assessment.

There are also differences in how the marketplaces operate.

Although independent sellers supply tickets through Fanatix, the website does not offer the same straightforward process for casual supporters to list tickets themselves. Instead, customers can contact Fanatix about selling previously purchased tickets on consignment.

Its published terms promise a full refund when tickets fail to arrive in time. If an event is permanently cancelled, the ticket price is refunded to the original payment method, while the service fee is returned as a voucher valid for two years.

That’s something to keep in mind if you want all your money returned directly rather than receiving credit towards another booking.

Best for: Buyers who want StubHub's broad international event coverage and marketplace structure, with a particularly intuitive website and responsive customer service.

2. Hellotickets: Best for Events During City Breaks

Hellotickets is an interesting alternative because its business extends far beyond sporting events and concerts.

Alongside football, Formula 1, tennis, NBA basketball, theatre and live music, the website sells guided tours, attractions and other tourism experiences.

For someone travelling to Madrid, London or New York to attend an event, this broader offering can be useful.

You might be looking for football tickets one moment and arranging sightseeing activities for the following morning.

Hellotickets operates an intermediary marketplace involving third-party sellers, but it is not primarily designed around individual supporters listing their unwanted tickets.

Its main advantage over StubHub is therefore the range of additional activities available through the same website.

Our Hellotickets review found that individual event pages were well designed, with attractive interactive seating plans and a relatively straightforward selection process.

The experience was less convincing when navigating the wider website.

Tours and attractions occupy considerable space, making it less intuitive to locate sporting events than on StubHub. PayPal is accepted, although our review also found that additional service charges were revealed quite late in checkout.

Customer service was another drawback.

When we contacted Hellotickets with a pre-sale enquiry, we received an automated acknowledgement promptly, but a substantive human response had still not arrived several hours later.

Its refund arrangements also differ from StubHub's.

If a seller cannot supply the purchased tickets, Hellotickets' terms allow equivalent or superior replacements. If a suitable substitute cannot be supplied, the seller must refund the full ticket price.

Definitively cancelled events are covered by refund provisions, although the treatment of fees and exceptional circumstances should be checked against the applicable booking conditions.

Best for: International travellers who want to book sporting events, concerts and attractions as part of the same trip.

3. SportsEvents365: Best for Personal Customer Service

SportsEvents365 operates more like a traditional international ticket broker than StubHub's large buyer-and-seller marketplace.

Founded in 2006, the company covers football, Formula 1, tennis, rugby, basketball, concerts and other entertainment events.

Its website takes a straightforward approach, grouping tickets by event, location and seating category.

You can find the seats you want without much difficulty, although the interface lacks some of the sophisticated filtering and interactive features that distinguish StubHub and Fanatix.

Our SportsEvents365 review found the website practical rather than particularly modern.

The company's stronger point is personal assistance.

SportsEvents365 places greater emphasis on contact with its customers, offering telephone support, online communication channels and arrangements for urgent problems around an event.

Our review awarded its customer support 4/5, highlighting the more personal service.

This can be particularly useful when attending an overseas fixture.

Someone travelling to a Champions League match may appreciate being able to contact a ticket specialist about delivery arrangements, particularly if tickets need to be collected locally or delivered to a hotel.

SportsEvents365 also advertises a 100% Buyer Guarantee.

Its published terms state that where the company fails to deliver confirmed or compatible tickets for reasons attributable to it, the remedy can be a refund of up to 100% of the ticket purchase value, provided the relevant conditions are met.

Customers must promptly report problems through its emergency support arrangements.

This is not identical to StubHub's guarantee, which also allows for replacement tickets or future-purchase credit.

Best for: Buyers arranging tickets for international sporting events who would rather have personal assistance than rely entirely on automated booking tools.

Which Alternative Is Closest to StubHub's Peer-to-Peer Model?

Of our three alternatives, Fanatix comes closest to StubHub's marketplace structure.

Both connect customers with independent sellers rather than simply selling tickets from a broker's own inventory.

That means prices can differ between listings for the same event, depending on the seller, seating category and availability.

We should note the difference between allowing third-party sellers to supply tickets and operating an open peer-to-peer marketplace where an ordinary supporter can easily advertise their own seat.

StubHub offers a more direct route for individuals who want to list unwanted tickets.

Fanatix instead allows customers to enquire about consignment resale, with the company attempting to sell their tickets on their behalf.

Hellotickets also connects customers with third-party sellers, but its broader tourism business makes it less comparable to a conventional fan-to-fan ticket exchange.

SportsEvents365 takes a more broker-led approach, arranging tickets through its supply network.

If your priority is buying tickets, all three are potential alternatives. If you specifically want to sell your own tickets, their different approaches become considerably more important.

What Happens If Your Tickets Don't Arrive?

StubHub's FanProtect Guarantee is one of its biggest selling points, promising valid tickets delivered in time for the event.

If qualifying tickets cannot be supplied, StubHub can arrange comparable or better replacements or offer a refund or future-purchase credit.

The alternatives offer different remedies, particularly when an event is cancelled.

PlatformIf tickets cannot be suppliedPermanently cancelled event
StubHub InternationalComparable/better replacements or refund/creditRefund or credit under detailed terms and applicable law
FanatixFull refund for qualifying non-deliveryTicket price refunded; service fee returned as a two-year voucher
HelloticketsEquivalent/better substitutes or ticket-price refundRefund under cancellation terms
SportsEvents365Qualifying fulfilment refund under its Buyer GuaranteeDepends on applicable terms and circumstances

Something worth understanding is the difference between a cash refund and credit towards another purchase.

For example, StubHub's detailed International FanProtect terms allow a refund or credit following permanent cancellation, at its discretion unless applicable law requires a refund. Fanatix explicitly separates the refundable ticket price from the service fee returned as a voucher.

SportsEvents365's fulfilment guarantee should not be taken as a blanket promise of reimbursement whenever an event is cancelled or postponed.

It is also important to distinguish cancellation from postponement.

When an event is rearranged, tickets commonly remain valid for the new date. This does not automatically entitle the buyer to a refund simply because they can no longer attend.

If a ticket fails to arrive or does not work at the venue, contact the company immediately and follow its evidence and reporting requirements.

How Much Do StubHub Alternatives Cost?

There is no reliable way to identify one permanently cheapest alternative to StubHub.

Ticket prices depend on the event, the sellers advertising seats, the number of tickets required and any additional charges.

A useful example comes from a forthcoming UEFA Europa League fixture.

Red Bull Salzburg vs Ararat-Armenia: A real price comparison

For the match on Thursday 26 November 2026, Ticket-Compare.com's research snapshot on 27 October identified three competing ticket marketplaces.

Ticket platformAdvertised starting price
StubHub International$65
Hellotickets$66
SportsEvents365$135

Source: Red Bull Salzburg vs Ararat-Armenia tickets on Ticket-Compare.com, 27 October 2026. Prices represent the lowest advertised ticket from each supplier, not identical seats or final checkout totals.

The difference is striking.

StubHub and Hellotickets were separated by just $1, while SportsEvents365's starting price was $70 higher than StubHub's.

There are limitations to this comparison.

The cheapest tickets from different suppliers may be in different parts of the stadium, while service fees and fulfilment arrangements can affect the total cost.

Someone comparing a single upper-tier seat with a pair of seats together in a better location would not necessarily be looking at equivalent products.

The example therefore demonstrates why comparing actual ticket listings is more informative than assuming one platform will always offer the lowest prices.

Similar competition exists beyond football.

Ticket-Compare.com's 2026 research on the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix documented Fanatix, StubHub, Hellotickets and SportsEvents365 appearing together in the event's supplier filters.

That gives buyers a choice between several different businesses selling access to the same sporting event, although the available ticket types and supplier mix can change.

Compare StubHub Alternatives on Ticket-Compare.com

Even after identifying the strongest alternatives, choosing one website before looking at the event itself can be unnecessarily restrictive.

One seller might offer the cheapest single ticket, while another has a better-priced pair together or seats in a more desirable section.

Ticket-Compare.com brings listings from pre-vetted resale websites and official ticketing partners into one place, allowing you to compare available options without opening multiple websites individually.

For a football match, it is worth checking the seating category, home or away section, ticket quantity and final price. For Formula 1, you might be choosing between general admission, grandstand seats and hospitality.

Ticket-Compare.com is a comparison platform rather than a ticket seller. Once you find an option, you click through to the respective marketplace, which handles payment, delivery and buyer protection.

You can also explore the website's ticket seller reviews to see how different sites performed in our own assessments.

StubHub Alternatives | Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best overall alternative to StubHub?

Fanatix is our best overall alternative to StubHub International. It offers a similarly broad resale marketplace covering football, Formula 1, tennis, concerts and other events. Its excellent interface and customer service, which received 5/5 in our testing, make it especially competitive.

Which StubHub alternative is best for Premier League tickets?

Fanatix is particularly well suited to Premier League buyers, with extensive European football coverage and interactive stadium plans. Hellotickets and SportsEvents365 also offer English football tickets. The strongest option for a specific match depends on the available sections, ticket quantities and final prices.

Which StubHub alternative is best for concerts?

Fanatix offers extensive international concert coverage and comes closest to StubHub's straightforward marketplace experience. Hellotickets also sells major concert tickets and may be particularly convenient for customers travelling to another city, allowing them to arrange sightseeing and other activities through the same website.

Can you sell tickets on StubHub alternatives?

Fanatix connects buyers with independent sellers, but customers wishing to resell tickets they have already purchased must contact the platform about consignment arrangements. Hellotickets and SportsEvents365 do not offer the same straightforward individual listing experience as StubHub's open resale marketplace.

Which StubHub alternatives accept PayPal?

Fanatix and Hellotickets both accepted PayPal during Ticket-Compare.com's testing. StubHub International also supports PayPal. Our earlier SportsEvents365 review did not identify PayPal as an available payment method, although the company's payment options may change. Always check the options presented at checkout.

Which StubHub alternative offers the best customer service?

Fanatix gave the strongest direct result in our comparison, replying to a test enquiry in under ten minutes and receiving 5/5 for support. SportsEvents365 offers a more personally assisted service, with telephone contact and emergency support arrangements that may appeal to customers attending overseas events.

Are StubHub alternatives always cheaper?

No. Sellers can set different prices for the same event, and additional fees may change the final amount payable.

Our Salzburg comparison found only $1 between StubHub and Hellotickets at their advertised starting prices, while SportsEvents365 was considerably more expensive. Those figures do not compare identical seats.

Is Ticket-Compare.com a StubHub alternative?

Ticket-Compare.com is an alternative way to search for tickets, rather than a resale marketplace where customers complete purchases. It compares listings from selected resale providers and official ticketing partners, helping customers inspect price and availability before proceeding to their chosen seller.

Which StubHub Alternative Is Best for Sports and Event Tickets?

Fanatix is the best overall StubHub alternative, offering the closest combination of independent sellers, international event coverage, sophisticated seating tools and responsive customer service.

Hellotickets is worth considering when a sporting event or concert forms part of a wider holiday, while SportsEvents365 may be preferable if you value personal assistance when arranging tickets.

The best option for a particular event will still depend on the tickets available, their seating locations, fulfilment arrangements and total price.

As the Salzburg comparison demonstrates, different marketplaces can have substantially different starting prices for the same fixture. Comparing the actual listings through Ticket-Compare.com is therefore often more useful than committing to one marketplace in advance.
