Stadium Information

Napoli play their home games at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, formerly known as Stadio San Paolo, which is located in the western Fuorigrotta suburb of Naples. The stadium has a capacity of 60,240 and is the fourth-largest stadium in Italy (after San Siro, Stadio Olimpico, and San Nicola).

The stadium was constructed in 1959, and was renovated for the 1990 World Cup, and again in 2018. Stadio Diego Armando Maradona always promises an electric atmosphere on match day, and is a must-see for tourists.

Honours and Trophies

Napoli have seen success over the years, winning three Serie A titles, six Coppa Italia titles, two Supercoppa Italiana titles and one UEFA Cup.

Team Information

Napoli has had many talented and successful players over the years. Arguably their most iconic player was Diego Maradona. He joined the club in 1984 and quickly became a fan favourite,
leading the team to their first-ever Serie A title in 1987. He also helped the team win the UEFA Cup in 1989. Maradona's skill and creativity on the field, combined with his charismatic personality, have made him a legend in Naples and around the world.

Another star player is Marek Hamski, who played for Napoli for 12 seasons, from 2007 to 2019. He was a key player for the team during this time, helping them win two Coppa Italia titles and a Supercoppa Italiana. He also became the club's all-time leading scorer in 2017 (before being surpassed by Dries Martens in 2020), and made 521 appearances for the club. Hamsik's versatility and work rate on the field, as well as his loyalty to the club, have made him a beloved figure among Napoli fans.

Other noteworthy Napoli players include Alessio Zerbin, Matteo Politano, Dries Mertens, Ciro Ferrara, and Alex Meret. All of these players made a huge impact during their time at the club.

Rivalries

Unlike many other Italian cities, Napoli is the only major club in its city. Therefore, Napoli doesn’t contend with another team for a derby in the strict sense of the term. However, they do have a rivalry with AS Roma, and compete with them in the Derby del Sole. They also have a heated rivalry with the principal northern team Juventus, and games between the two are always filled with drama and tension.

Other Napoli rivals include Lazio, Bari and Foggia, as well as a friendly rivalry with Palermo.
