Ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season, there wasn’t a traditional waiting list to get a Man City season ticket, unlike their ‘Big 6’ counterparts.

The first requirement was that you needed to have a Manchester City membership in order to qualify to buy something called a Flexi-Gold Season Ticket, priced at $199 in 2025.

After paying that fee, a Flexi-Gold Season Ticket automatically guaranteed access to buy all Premier League tickets for Man City.

The criteria to qualify for a Flexi-Gold Season Tickets changes by the season, but depends on matches you had attended in the previous season, and how long you have been a member.

Some articles have suggested that both Manchester United and Manchester City both have season ticket waiting lists of 120,000, however after exploring some of the forums available, it appears that handfuls of season tickets have been made available to members before the start of the last couple of seasons.

How Do I Purchase a Man City Season Ticket?

In order to join the Man City season ticket waiting list, you’ll first need to be a member of the club. This is something that’s easy to acquire, with each individual needing to buy a Matchday Membership, which are currently available to buy right now.

Then, at renewal time in spring, Flexi-Gold Season Tickets are put on sale to qualifying matchday members.

Then, if before 2025/26 you had attended at least 16 home Premier League Man City matches with a Flexi-Gold Season Ticket, you were automatically invited to purchase a full Manchester City season ticket.

These full MCFC season tickets are known as Gold, Platinum or 93:20 membership.

Before 2025/26 this ‘utilisation’ policy was updated to a minimum of 16 EPL matches for season ticket holders with 93:20, Gold and Platinum membership (10 of which must be personally attended).

To make sharing possible, Ticket Transfer allows Manchester City season ticket holders to choose up to three friends or family members who can receive this ticket if the holder can’t attend. They don’t even need to be MCFC members.

The Ticket Exchange allows full Man City season ticket holders to get guaranteed refunds on up to 12 Premier League matches. Ahead of 2025/26 ST holders now have up to 24 hours before kick-off to post their tickets on the Ticket Exchange.

If a ticket remains unsold, it will be returned to the original holder at least three hours before the match, giving them the option to attend or transfer it to a family member or friend registered on their account.

Etihad Stadium Expansion

Although the chances of being able to secure a Man City season ticket are quite high in comparison to some of the other Premier League clubs, it should become even easier once the planned expansion of the Etihad Stadium has taken place.

With test events expected in early 2026, the stadium will increase by 7,900 seats, taking the overall capacity to approximately 62,000.

All the additional seats will be added to the North Stand, where you’d imagine more season tickets will become available, thanks to the additional capacity.
