Luton achieved promotion to the top flight in 2023, and are keen to stay there. Luton Town were the first team in southern England to turn professional, and joined the Football League in the 1897-98 season. Kenilworth Road has been the home ground of Luton Town since 1905. It has a capacity of 11,500 and is located in the district of Bury Park in Bedfordshire. Floodlights were fitted in 1953, and the stadium became all-seated in 1991. The stadium also hosts women's and youth international matches and the 1984 European Competition for Women's Football.
