About Monaco

Monaco plays in the top tier of French football. The club was founded in 1918 and plays its home matches at the Stade Louis II.

Monaco has a rivalry with fellow Ligue 1 team, OGC Nice, with whom they oppose in the Derby de la Côte d'Azur. The name comes from the fact that both Monaco and Nice are the only two major clubs in France that are located on or near the Côte d'Azur (known in English as the French Riviera).
