Everybody knows that West Ham are massive, but maybe you’re wondering if the waiting list for a West Ham Season Ticket is quite as massive.
West Ham Season Tickets have sold out every year since the club moved to the London Stadium in 2016, but that doesn’t mean that they’re impossible to get. There are fewer than 10,000 people on the waiting list for a West Ham Season Ticket.
This means you shouldn’t have to wait more than a couple years. In fact, some people who apply during one season will be offered the chance to purchase a West Ham Season Ticket that same summer.
How Much Is a West Ham Season Ticket?
For a London club, the price of a West Ham Season Ticket can be surprisingly reasonable. One factor is the unusual layout of London Stadium. So, on the shortsides, the back rows of the Bobby Moore Stand and the Sir Trevor Brooking Stand are a long way from the action, and don’t have desirable views. Adult West Ham Season Tickets in these sections start at just £345.
The price tends to rise as you move towards the middle of the tiers, especially on the longsides Billy Bonds Stand and West Stand. The most expensive General Admission West Ham Season Tickets are found towards the halfway line, costing £1,175. For Juniors aged 17 and below, the price ranges from £109 to £295. This rises to between £170 and £585 for Seniors and people aged 18-20.
One level above is the West Ham 1966 Season Ticket, which come with prime seating and a range of perks that we’ll cover in our West Ham Membership page. In the West Stand these tickets cost £1,445, and rise to £1,720 in the Billy Bonds Stand, where the view is arguably the best in the entire London Stadium. There are no Junior or Senior discounts for these seats.
How Many West Ham Season Tickets Are There?
At present there are approximately 55,000 West Ham Season Ticket holders. That is more than any other club in the Premier League, including Manchester United. Of course, that figure has changed dramatically since the club moved out of the Boleyn Ground.
For years, the total was around 26,000, and it nearly doubled when West Ham moved into the London Stadium in 2016, which could seat 57,000 fans at the time.
Since then, the club has steadily increased the capacity of the London Stadium, and with it the number of West Ham Season Ticket holders. As of the 2023-34 season the capacity was 62,500, but there are long-term plans to boost this total closer to 70,000. Even with so many West Ham Season Ticket holders the rate of renewal is still high. There was a lot of disruption during the Covid-19 pandemic, but things have bounced back in the years since then.
Approximately 95% of West Ham Fans with Season Tickets renew each spring. Demand is also increasing due to West Ham’s recent European success, and consistent top-half finishes. So there’s every possibility that the waiting list for a West Ham Season Ticket will grow.
How Do I Join the West Ham Season Ticket Waiting List?
In the past, the way to get a place on the waiting list for a West Ham Season Ticket was to purchase a West Ham Membership. This made the waiting list appear larger than it actually was, because only a fraction of all West Ham Members actually wanted to splash out on a Season Ticket when the time came.
Things have changed in the last few years. Members who had not shown interest in purchasing a West Ham Season Ticket were removed from the list. Since 2022, the waiting list has been made completely independent from the West Ham Membership.
Now you have to join something called the Season Ticket Priority List. This costs £10 to join, and you have to opt in every season to let the club know that you’re still interested. That tenner is in fact a deposit for your ticket, redeemable against the future purchase of a West Ham Season Ticket.
When Are West Ham Season Tickets Renewed?
When you get to the front of the queue, the club will contact you at the end of the renewal period to offer you a place.
The renewal period starts in late March and runs until the Renewal Deadline, which is normally the first week of June. So be sure to mark that period in the calendar, because this is when you might be offered the chance to buy a West Ham Season Ticket.
When you get to the top of the Season Ticket Priority List, you will be asked to pay a further £50 deposit to secure your West Ham Season Ticket, and choose your preferred pricing band. If you turn down the chance to buy a season ticket you will lose that initial £10 fee, and will go back to the bottom of the list.
How Long is the West Ham Club London Waiting List?
West Ham United fans who want a dose of luxury in their matchday experience at London Stadium can join the waiting list for Club London. This is West Ham’s premium hospitality level, complemented by several lounges and restaurants in the West Stand.
Although most packages sell out, the renewal rate is lower than for General Admission West Ham Season Tickets. So you should be offered the chance to purchase a Seasonal Club London Membership in the summer after you apply.
So how much is seasonal membership at West Ham’s Club London? Prices for the lounges range from £2,000 a season at the Boleyn to £7,086 (all inclusive) at the premier Arnold Hills lounge.
Buying West Ham Tickets Via Resellers
Naturally, committing to an entire season isn’t for everybody. West Ham have a big contingent of overseas fans who can only get to one or two matches a season.
