Available for All Matches
What Is the Manchester City Ticket Exchange?
Manchester City Ticket Exchange is the club’s official resale mechanism for Season Ticket Members who can’t get to a home Premier League match.
You list your seat from three weeks before kick-off and, once live, it drops straight into the normal ticket inventory like any other match ticket.
There’s no separate marketplace.
If it sells, you get a pro-rata refund to a UK bank account after the match—for most STs it’s 1/19 of the total price, while for 93:20 Season Tickets it’s 1/22 because this includes cup games.
This sum will be paid into a UK bank account about 15 days later (up to a maximum of 45 days).
As an aside, home Women’s Super League matches are also eligible, and an MCFC Women’s Season Ticket Member receives 1/11 of their season ticket price on Ticket Exchange.
Relisting their seat with Ticket Exchange, MCFC Season Ticket Members will still keep all of their Season Ticket Points, which are vital for qualifying for those highly coveted away tickets.
Manchester City Ticket Exchange Timeline at a Glance
- 3 Weeks Before Kick-Off: Season Ticket Members will be able to re-list their seat via Ticket Exchange three weeks before a match. From that moment onwards the ticket is live.
- 10 Days Before Kick-Off: Up to this point, Season Ticket Members will be guaranteed a refund for their ticket (for 12 specific Premier League matches) even if it doesn’t sell on Ticket Exchange.
- 24 Hours Before Kick-Off: This is the deadline for Season Ticket Members to relist their ticket.
- 3 Hours Before Kick-Off: No ticket purchases can be made after this time.
Who Can Buy Man City Ticket Exchange Tickets?
Anybody with a Man City Membership (Matchday) will be able to buy tickets that have been re-listed using Manchester City Ticket Exchange.
With this system, seats will appear on the stadium map for a specific match right up to the day of the match.
As the deadline for season ticket holders to re-list their tickets is 24 hours before a match kicks off, the club encourages members who are still hunting for a ticket to keep checking for any late availability.
Any unsold tickets will remain online until three hours before the match.
How to Buy Tickets through the Manchester City Ticket Exchange?
The process for buying tickets relisted through Ticket Exchange is simple. You don’t need to access a specific platform, as tickets will appear on the stadium map for the match of your choice.
They are sold like they would be for a ticket release, except they will appear more sporadically once the Ticket Exchange window opens three weeks before a match.
All you have to do is:
- Head to Men’s Tickets
- Click Buy Now on the match you want to watch
- Seats will appear in the stadium map as they become available
- If there’s nothing available, keep checking back as often as possible, right up to the morning of the match
Who Can Sell Tickets with the Manchester City Ticket Exchange?
Only Manchester City Season Ticket Members are able to sell tickets with the Ticket Exchange service. This includes fans with a premium 93:20 season membership.
Guaranteed Refunds for Ticket Exchange Listings
In 2025/26, if a Season Ticket Member relists a ticket at least ten days before kick-off, they are guaranteed a refund for Premier League tickets at the Etihad involving the following opponents:
- Arsenal
- AFC Bournemouth
- Chelsea
- Crystal Palace
- Everton
- Fulham
- Liverpool
- Manchester United
- Newcastle United
- Tottenham Hotspur
- West Ham United
- Wolverhampton Wanderers
How To Sell Man City Tickets with Ticket Exchange
The club has streamlined the process for MCFC Season Ticket Members to sell their seat on Ticket Exchange. This is all you have to do:
- Log in to your Manchester City account.
- Click View Ticket Exchange on the Welcome page.
- Choose the seat for the match you can’t attend.
- Select your Season Ticket seat(s) and press OK.
- Add or confirm your UK bank details for the refund.
And that’s it: Your seat is now live. You can cancel your listing up to 24h before kick-off, provided it hasn’t been purchased.
Any unsold seats will be returned to you 3 hours before kick-off when Ticket Exchange closes.
Manchester City Ticket Exchange and the 16 Match Policy
To keep Etihad Stadium full and make more tickets available for Matchday Members, in 2025/26 the club has switched to a 16-match usage policy for Season Ticket Members.
This means that ST members at Man City have to ‘utilise’ their season ticket at least 16 times a season. On top of that, you’re expected to attend a minimum of 10 matches in person.
For those games you can’t attend, relisting a seat with Ticket Exchange counts as ticket usage, and of course is a way for holders to recoup the pro-rate price of their seat.
Naturally, the sooner a seat is re-listed on Ticket Exchange, the better chance it has of being snapped up by a Matchday Member.
How Are Season Ticket Members Refunded for Ticket Exchange Sales?
The pro-rata price of a season ticket will be deposited into your bank account. This normally takes about 15 days but can take up to 45 days to be processed.
Manchester City stands out from many other Premier League clubs in this respect.
Several teams, like Leeds United, only offer ticketing credit for Ticket Exchange sales, while you have to wait for a cashback window to be reimbursed on the Arsenal Ticket Exchange.
What Is the Difference Between Ticket Exchange and Ticket Transfer?
For Manchester City Season Ticket Members there are two routes if you can’t get to a match and still want to ensure ticket usage.
Ticket Transfer is a more personal method, allowing a Season Ticket Member to pass their seat for a specific match on to another fan. Unlike with Ticket Exchange there is no refund involved.
You can only transfer to someone with a Matchday Membership or Cityzens Membership, or to one of up to three pre-chosen non-members in your Friends & Family network (you can’t use Ticket Transfer with another ST holder).
So the key difference is that Ticket Exchange lists your seat for sale to anyone and pays you a pro-rata refund if it sells, while Transfer simply reassigns the seat within your network.
How to Transfer Your Manchester City Ticket
- Log in
- Click on Tickets
- Pick the match
- Choose a friend from Friends & Family
- Confirm and your ticket is successfully transferred.
Note that a fee will be payable if the person who receives your ticket is an adult and you’re a junior or senior Season Ticket Member.
What Is Man City’s Return Policy?
Matchday Members who bought individual match tickets can request a refund up to 7 days before kick-off via an online form. Refunds will be processed within 30 days. Note that requests inside 7 days are not eligible.
The lead purchaser must submit the form, and the refund covers the whole order (including Kids Fanzone and car parking, if applicable). Tickets bought with a Matchday, Cityzens or Junior Membership are non-transferable.
If a MCFC home match is rescheduled, all buyers will be notified and may request a refund up to 7 days before the new kick-off date/time. All fixtures are subject to change for broadcast and competition reasons.
Season Ticket Members can use the Ticket Exchange, Ticket Transfer, or even donate the ticket to the City in the Community (CITC) charity.
