Silverstone Circuit, home to the British Grand Prix on and off since 1948, is truly one of Formula 1’s classic tracks.

What you get at the British Grand Prix are lightning-quick corners, highly technical sequences and some of the noisiest fans on the tour. It’s all a recipe for one of the best live viewing experiences on the Formula 1 calendar.

In our guide to the Silverstone Circuit seating plan, we’ll tour the main sections and grandstand to tell you what you will see.

We’ll also inject some expert insight from drivers who know every inch of the track.

Silverstone Circuit Seating Plan: Grandstand-by-Grandstand Breakdown

There are more than 25 grandstands lining the famous track at Silverstone.

Whether you want lightning fast straights, late braking or pure technicality we’ll go through the most famous to find the one that is right for you.

Hamilton Grandstand at Silverstone Circuit: Start/Finish Line Drama

ScreenShot Of SilverStone Circuit seating plan with Hamilton sections highlighted

Location: Right along the start/finish straight.

View: You’ll be directly opposite the team garages, in a stand serving up a pristine view of the pit lane and the starting grid.

That means that if you keep your wits about you, you’ll see every detail of the cars powering off the line and screaming into the fast Turn 1 at Abbey.

Of course, as the race unfolds, pit stops and their hive of activity go down in full view. Not to forget—the podium ceremony is the icing on the cake in some of the best seats in the Formula 1 World Championship.

Quote: "You're accelerating down the pit straight...flat out through one and two."  Lewis Hamilton

Seating features: Premium covered seating, enormous video screens and surely the best visibility at Silverstone Circuit.

Perfect for: Fans who want an all-encompasing sense of the race capturing the moments that matter including the high drama of the pits.

Abbey to Village at Silverstone Circuit: High-Speed Entries and Heavy Braking

ScreenShot Of SilverStone Circuit seating plan with Abbey, Mahiki ti Enclosure, The view, Farm Curve and Village sections highlighted

Location: Section includes Abbey, FARM CURVE, Village and The Loop.

View: This stretch of track at Silverstone Circuit rolls together flat-out sprints and extremely technical braking zones. Things are especially fraught here in the opening laps when the field is still packed tightly together.

So keep your eyes peeled early in the race for some daring overtakes and quick reflexes to avoid collisions and jostle for the best line. With Formula 1 tickets in these stands, you’ll see the very best drivers on the planet fighting tooth and nail for track position.

Insight: 2013 British GP winner Nico Rosberg sums up this whole segment as “deceptive”. It looks straightforward but needs a ton of finesse, not least because understeer and tyre warmth come into play.

Seating features: Expect a blend of covered and uncovered stands and several big screens.

Perfect for: F1 fans who want high-wire driver duels, and to see the intricacies of braking technique with awesome clarity.

Luffield & Woodcote at Silverstone Circuit: Classic Overtaking Zone

ScreenShot Of SilverStone Circuit seating plan with Luffied and Woodcote sections highlighted

Location: End of the Wellington Straight into a tight, sweeping complex.

View: With these Silverstone Circuit tickets, you’ll see cars slamming on their brakes battling for line into Brooklands, picking up speed momentum for the long Luffield corner.

This is all a slow-speed sequence at Silverstone Circuit, but you can’t do much better if you want to appreciate the craft of keeping traction and picking your lines. Drivers are pushed to their limit here, especially if their car has worn-out tyres.

Insight: Lewis Hamilton has noted that wind will often disrupt things here, particularly under braking with the DRS flap open. A car’s balance can be shifted suddenly, leading to some messy corner entries.

Seating Features: Fully covered seating, big screen visibility, and close proximity to amenities.

Perfect for: Fans wanting a stadium-style feel with a buzzing atmosphere and sustained views to really study the cars on the track.

Copse at Silverstone Circuit: Precision at 190mph

ScreenShot Of SilverStone Circuit seating plan with Copse sections highlighted

Location: Famous right-hander after the National Pit Straight

View: This is one of the fastest corners at the British Grand Prix, taken in eighth gear with minimal lifting.

So get ready for cars to whip past at dumbfounding speeds (close to 190mph). Only the most precise drivers will be able to keep their technique clean through time and again in a 52-lap race.

Quote: "In my time, Copse was never flat, but now it is. One flick and you're in. There's no room for error." Nico Rosberg

Seating Features: You get partially covered seating, decent access to big screens and arguably the most intense sensory experience at Silverstone Circuit.

Ideal for: Anyone who wants to witness car control at its very best.

Becketts, Maggotts & CHAPEL at Silverstone Circuit: The Showstopper

Location: High-speed sequence through Silverstone’s technical sector

View: From the BECKETTS Grandstand, you’ll have the clearest sightlines of one of Formula 1’s most celebrated sections.

Here, F1 cars will snake left-right-left at high speed (150+ mph), while changing direction under impossibly high downforce. As far as visual spectacles go, you can’t get much better than BECKETTS and CHAPEL, with a classic F1 mix of extreme speed, flow and technical mastery.

Quote: "Flat out into Turn 12, back on the gas into 13; It’s incredibly quick.” Lewis Hamilton

Features: Uncovered stands, but with astonishing views and real energy from the fans.

Ideal for: Aficionados who want to see exactly what F1 machinery is capable of, and why drivers call this the most exhilarating part of a British GP lap.

Stowe, VALE & Club at Silverstone Circuit: The Final Attack

ScreenShot Of SilverStone Circuit seating plan with Stowe, Vale and Club Corner sections highlighted

Location: At the end of Hangar Straight and into the final sector

View: Stowe is a prime opportunity for some late overtaking, as drivers smash the brakes from high speed to a snail’s pace into a tight right-hander.

From Stowe, you can also see the field weaving through VALE and into Club, the final few corners before the finish line. This is where you’re going to catch some decisive moves or last-lap drama.

Insight: Rosberg points out how tricky this zone can be, especially in windy conditions. Drivers must rely on muscle memory as the exit is hard to see, and balance changes lap by lap.

Features: Club Corner is covered, but Club A is not. There’s also a great view of the podium if you're in the right spot in Club C.

Ideal for: F1 fans up for high-action racing, a view of the podium (in some seats), and strong end-of-race moments.

VIP Seating at Silverstone Circuit: PADDOCK CLUB, Fusion Club, IGNITION CLUB

Location: There are VIP seating areas  scattered across Silverstone’s best-situated trackside spots. These range from the Hamilton Straight to a host of premium infield terraces on key straights and corners (FUSION LOUNGE, IGNITION CLUB, PADDOCK CLUB).

Some VIP lounges at Silverstone Circuit sit directly above the pit lane and starting grid on the straight, while others are perched by famous turns (like Brooklands or along the Hangar Straight).

View: From these privileged seats, you can expect a unique perspective on the race. From the PADDOCK CLUB, to name just one, you get a bird’s-eye view of the grid formation, the chequered-flag finish, and the pit stops unfolding below..

Seating Features: VIP seating combines adrenaline with indulgence. These sections are often enclosed, so the fickle English weather won’t spoil the experience.

Expect cushioned seats in the grandstand, and access to indoor lounge spaces. Depending on the package you’ll get gourmet catering and open bars (many packages include all-day fine dining and free-flowing drinks).

Big HD screens are always close at hand to help you follow the on-track battles happening out of your immediate sight. On top of that, VIP guests get a range of perks like reserved parking and even entertainment such as guest speakers or simulators in certain hospitality areas.

Perfect for: Fans who want to pair high-OCTANE racing with high-end comfort. It’s ideal for those celebrating a special occasion, entertaining clients, or simply craving the most exclusive way to experience the British GP.
