Ticket Points Benefit of Having a Manchester Platinum Season Ticket
As you may have noticed, Platinum season ticket members are awarded double the number of points of Gold and Value Gold season ticket members. So if you enter all three Cup Schemes that means 600 points instead of 300.
This is a big benefit, especially when Platinum season tickets are easy to obtain. To get Platinum, all you have to do is pay $67 extra during a season ticket purchase or renewal period to upgrade your Man City season ticket to Platinum.
In the last few years the club has launched a pay-as-you-go Flexi Gold season ticket scheme.

How Flexi Gold Season Ticket Holders Can Earn Ticket Points
Since a Flexi Gold season ticket doesn’t give you tickets, but rather the opportunity to buy tickets, these members simply receive 10 points for every home league match they attend.
Flexi Gold season ticket members are also free to join the club’s Cup Schemes.
Now, even though Cup Schemes will help you attend matches in the domestic cups and Europe, it will be several years before the extra points help Flexi Gold season members attend away matches in the league.

How Many Ticket Points Do You Need to Buy Man City Away Tickets?
The total number of Ticket Points needed to buy away tickets for Man City will always vary depending on a host of factors. We’ll lay out a few now:
- The prestige of the opponent
- When in the week the match takes place,
- How late or early in a competition the match falls
- How easy the opponent is to get to
- The size of the opponent’s away allocation

Only after those phases did sales reach Cityzens Matchday and Cityzens Junior Members.

Man City Cup Schemes: What They Are and How They Work
So what is a Cup Scheme? This is an opt-in plan where the club automatically processes your ticket for home cup matches—and, as we’ve shown, gives you priority for away and final allocations in the cups.
Once you join an MCFC Cup Scheme, payment is taken automatically for each relevant game and your seat is confirmed without you needing to buy it manually. So it’s a ‘set and forget’ setup for Man City season ticket members.
Why join a Man City Cup Scheme?
- Ticket Points boost: Join all three Cup Schemes to earn 300 Ticket Points. Again, if you are on Platinum, this is doubled to 600.
- Ticket priority: You move to the front of the queue for away cup matches and cup final tickets, subject to availability and the club’s qualifying criteria.
- Home cup price cap: With a Cup Scheme, domestic home cup ties are capped at $47 in 2025/26, up to and including the quarter-finals. Premium Seat holders pay the prevailing price for their seat.
- Automatic purchase: The club takes payment automatically and confirms your seat. If a move is needed, they will place you in a suitable area.
Important payment rules for Man City Cup Schemes
If a payment fails and is not resolved, you will be removed from the scheme and will also lose any Ticket Points awarded for joining.
Removal is final for the rest of that season, and you cannot re-join until the following season. So it’s essential that you keep your payment methods fully up-to-date on the club site, and stay on top of communications from the club.
