How Long is the Wolves Season Ticket Waiting List?

A guaranteed seat at Molineux for every Premier League home game: That is the dream for thousands of fans queuing for a Wolverhamton Wanderers Season Ticket.

Patience is a virtue, but many fans have been on the Wolves Season Ticket waiting list for years, and the promised land is still out of reach.

So just how long will it take to land a season ticket at Wolves? Read on, and we’ll tell you all you need to know, from the length of the list to renewal rates and how you can sign up.

So What is the Length of the Wolves Season Ticket Waiting List?

As an educated guess, after consulting with a club source, we believe the length of the Wolves Season Ticket waiting list in 2024/25 is a little over 8,500 people.

In terms of time needed to get to the front of the queue, this is much harder to work out. In 2024/25 there were fans who have been on the list for six years.

We believe that these fans can expect to be offered the chance to buy a Wolves Season ticket in May 2025.

If you were to join the list today we think that will take five years to be offered a Wolves season ticket. However, there are many factors that could affect that timeline.

How Many Wolves Season Ticket Holders Are There?

Since the club won promotion in 2018, the Wolverhampton Wanderers season ticket total has been capped at 22,500.

This is about 70% of the 32050 capacity at Molineux Stadium, keeping in mind that 3,000 tickets are reserved for the Premier League away allocation.

That number also has a big impact on demand and the availability of matchday tickets, and we’ll see how it compares to other teams in the Midlands.

ClubSeason Ticket HoldersStadium CapacityPercentage of Stadium Capacity
Wolves22,50032,05070%
Aston Villa27,00042,64063%
Nottingham Forest22,50030,44574%
Leicester City25,00032,26177.5%

For reference, the Premier League cap is 80% of stadium capacity.

How Many People Have Renewed Their Wolves Season Ticket?

Of that 22,500, the number of people who renew their Wolverhampton Wanderers season ticket every year remains high. There’s also no sign of it changing until 2026 at least, because of a freeze that we’ll talk about below..

In May 2024, 2,500 people on the Wolves Season Ticket waiting list were offered the chance to buy a ticket. So the renewal rate was 90%

This was quite a large increase on the toll in May 2023, when just 700 WWFC season tickets became available to people on the list, which equates to a whopping 97% renewal rate.

Will the Length of the Wolves Season Ticket Waiting List Change?

Yes, but it will get longer before it gets shorter. The price of a Wolverhampton Wanderers Season Ticket will not rise until 2026.

So while it’s hard to know how many new Wolves fans will join the list in that time, it’s safe to assume that the renewal rate will be extremely high in summer 2025, unless the club suffers a relegation.

After that time, we expect the waiting list to become a lot smaller. If Wolves are still a Premier League club in 2026 there will surely be a price hike, which might deter a lot of existing holders, as well as people in the list waiting for a ticket.

If the unthinkable happens, and Wolves are relegated, then interest in the club will naturally wane a little. But like pondering a defeat to West Brom, we don’t need to burden ourselves with such notions.

What Was The Big Wolves Season Ticket Controversy in 2024?

At the start of the WWFC season ticket renewal period in May 2024, the club announced that they were going to hike their season ticket prices, even after several years of increases.

The club claimed that it had decided on these rises as part of a ‘benchmarking’ process, comparing the Wolverhampton Wanderers to other Premier League clubs of a similar performance level and fanbase.

The Wolves Fans’ Backlash

It didn’t help: Club owners Fosun International were suddenly as popular as a Baggies fan in Wolverhampton.

This news caused widespread outrage among Wolves supporters. Some Adult tickets would rise by as much as 17%, while one category of U14 tickets was set to rise almost 180%.

A petition from Wolves fans got 15,000 signatures, and the club got a lot of negative coverage in the media against the backdrop of a cost of living crisis in England.

Within days, the club relented and announced a freeze that would carry over to 2025/26.

How Do I Join the Wolves Season Ticket Waiting List?

First you have to have a MyWolves Membership. This costs £45 for adults in 2024/25 and among the raft of Wolves Membership benefits is the ability to secure your place in the queue for a Wolves season ticket.

After that, what you have to do is send your dedicated Supporter Number to the club’s Fan Services email address, and they will put you on the list.

Then you have to make sure that you renew your MyWolves membership every season, or you will lose your spot in the queue.

How Do I Find Out My Place on the Wolves Season Ticket Waiting List?

Like Hwang Hee-Chan closing down opponents, the club keeps information about the length of the waiting list under tight wraps.

However, Wolves fans can find out their position on the list via Wolves’ online ticketing portal. This figure is updated during the season ticket renewal period in spring each year.

Can I Spread the Cost of My Wolves Season Ticket?

Yes, the club offers an interest-free direct debit plan, allowing fans to distribute the cost of a Wolverhampton Wanderers Season Ticket over nine monthly payments.
