The MKM Stadium seating plan is relatively easy to understand once you break down the four stands.

Hull City’s ground is a continuous bowl, but the West Stand is much larger than the other three sides and is the only stand with an upper tier. The East Stand, named for the club's all-time top scorer, Chris Chilton, runs along the opposite touchline, while the North and South sit behind the goals.

When buying Hull City tickets, where you sit changes a lot more than the angle of the pitch. The North contains Hull City’s main singing section, the South is the official Family Stand, the central West holds hospitality and club facilities, and visiting supporters occupy an L-shaped area around the north-east corner.

Understanding the MKM Stadium Layout

Three sides form a single-tier bowl. The West rises above them with a second tier and all the stadium’s main interior functions.

There are no supporting pillars through the ordinary seating areas, although low seats can still be affected by people or structures immediately in front.

The ground was designed for football and rugby league, so it feels less cramped along the touchlines than some older grounds.

The club shop and ticket office are outside the East Stand, while the principal reception, hospitality entrance, dressing rooms, tunnel and team facilities are on the West side.

• Blocks: W1 to W12 and WU1 to WU11

The West is Hull City’s main stand. The lower tier runs from W1 at the South Stand end to W12 beside the North, while WU1 to WU11 form the upper level. WU6, almost level with halfway, is no longer an ordinary seating block after its conversion into a press and media area.

For the most complete view, the strongest general seating is around WU4 to WU5 and WU7 to WU8. These blocks sit close to halfway and give enough height to view the entire pitch.

W4, W5 and W9 suit spectators wanting an up-close view. Bear in mind that the dugout shelters can interrupt the view from along the West touchline from the lowest central rows.

The dugouts are in front of the central West Stand and the players emerge through the tunnel near halfway.

The dressing rooms and team arrival facilities are behind this side. The main TV and press position is high and central in the West, looking towards the Chris Chilton East Stand.

This is generally the calmest side. WU8 to WU10 receive more sound from the North, while the central and southern areas suit people prioritising the football over constant singing. West Upper is also among the better-covered areas, although it normally remains shaded during afternoon matches.

• Blocks: E1 to E11

The single-tier Chris Chilton East Stand runs from the away end in E1 and continues towards the quieter South Stand bordering E10 and E11.

Blocks E5 to E7 offer the best all-encompassing view, near the halfway line, facing the dugouts and with a direct side-on angle.

Tigers fans will tell you that E5 to E10 here has the biggest concentration of long-established season-ticket holders, although the club does not publish that kind of seniority by block.

The East once contained Hull’s principal singing area, but much of that support later moved to the North. Its central and southern blocks now tend to feel a bit more laid-back rather than relentlessly vocal.

Block E4 sits immediately beside the visiting section. The upper 12 rows, U to FF, of E3 and E4 are licensed safe standing. E4 combines great views with direct proximity to the away support, while E5 keeps much of that energy while putting one block between you and the segregation line.

The East receives more afternoon sun than the shaded West, which can be welcome in winter, although glare and heat are possible early in the season. Remember though that Wind-driven rain may also reach parts of this side.

North Stand at the MKM Stadium

• Blocks: N1 to N7

The North Stand is divided between home and away support. N1 to the western half of N5 are home blocks, while the eastern half of N5 to N7 form part of the visitor allocation.

Typically, Hull City’s loudest home area is the upper part of blocks N1 to N5. Rows U to FF here have licensed safe standing and the greatest concentration of supporters expected to begin chants. Meanwhile, N2 to N4 offer the most complete behind-goal home end experience.

Block N1 and the north-west corner are slightly removed from the away divide, while N4 and N5 produce the most regular exchanges with visiting fans, if you like that kind of back-and-forth experience.

Lower rows bring you closer to the goalmouth but come at the cost of a clear viewing angle. The safe-standing rows give a better overview as well as a more vocal environment.

Parents wanting to be near the atmosphere without sitting in the most confrontational pocket could consider N1 or the north-west corner.

South Stand at the MKM Stadium

Blocks S1 to S7 form Hull City’s official Family Stand. The South concourse regularly offers EA Sports FC gaming, face painting, table football, sub-soccer, flags and other children’s activities.

Blocks S3 to S5 sit most centrally behind the goal. S1 to S2 and S6 to S7 provide a more diagonal angle along one touchline, while the adjoining corners improve the view of the pitch as a whole.

The South is the obvious option for a child’s first Hull City match, as well as spectators who prefer to remain seated and anyone wanting to avoid the language and exchanges that come closer to the away section.

Naturally, for fans who want noisy banter, this will come at a cost to the atmosphere, and there’s normally less singing in this part of the ground.

The Junior Fan Park is held separately at the Tigers Trust Arena for selected fixtures and normally requires advance booking. It is more like a children’s activity area than a permanent adult fanzone.

Where Do Away Fans Sit At The MKM Stadium?

Visiting supporters occupy N5 to N7, the north-east corner (NE) and E1, E2 and E3. So the section wraps from behind the north goal into the East touchline rather than sitting in one rectangular block, and includes block NE, which sits between N7 and E1 in the corner.

N5 to N7 give a conventional behind-goal view. N5 is also closest to the home support while the corner creates a diagonal angle, and E1 to E3 are more side-on.

As will all Premier League away ticket allocations, grounds below 30,000 capacity must normally offer visiting clubs 10 per cent of the available seats.

That points to roughly 2,500 places at the MKM Stadium, but the precise total and blocks released can change due to safety requirements, segregation and other operational factors.

The visitor section includes 1,105 licensed standing places. Away supporters use turnstiles 47 to 50 and 1 to 5 according to their block. Gate 46 provides lift access and Gate 51 serves the pitch-level accessible entrance.

The home blocks immediately beside the visitors are N5 and E4. Both are louder, more confrontational and more likely to contain strong language than the rest of the ground. They are properly segregated, but neither suits someone seeking a quiet family environment.

Is There Safe Standing At The MKM Stadium?

Licensed safe standing is available in:

• Rows U to FF of N1 to N5
• Rows U to FF of E3 to E4
• The northern half of the north-west corner
• Designated parts of the visiting section

Each supporter still has an allocated place with a seat and rail. These are not unreserved terraces, and standing is permitted rather than compulsory. Persistent standing elsewhere remains prohibited.

Where Is The Best Place To Sit At The MKM Stadium?

• Best overall view: Blocks WU4 to WU5 or WU7 to WU8. They combine halfway-line positioning with enough elevation to see the whole pitch in one sightline.
• Best close side-on view: Blocks E5 to E7, or W4 to W5 and W9. Avoid the very lowest central West rows if the dugouts could affect the near touchline.
• Best atmosphere: Blocks N2 to N5 in rows U to FF. N5 is closest to the visitors, while N2 to N4 are more like a classic home end.
• Best atmosphere with a side view: Block E4 with safe standing. E4 is also a good choice for singing without sitting directly on the away boundary.
• Best for families: Blocks S3 to S5. E8 to E10, the southern corners and parts of West Upper suit families wanting a better viewing angle in calmer surroundings.
• Best premium location: Blocks W6 to W8 and the central West corporate areas.
• Best shelter: West Upper is generally the safest choice for roof coverage, though no outdoor seat is guaranteed protection from wind-driven rain.

Hospitality and Premium Seating

Hull City’s principal hospitality seating is concentrated around the centre of the West Stand. Blocks W6 to W8 form the main commercial area, with executive accommodation, lounges and glass-fronted facilities within the stand.

Hospitality guests enter through West Stand reception. Packages may include padded seating, additional legroom and internal lounge access, but premium positioning and a full hospitality package are not automatically the same thing.

A central West Upper seat may give an equally strong football view without dining or lounge access.

Accessibility At The MKM Stadium

• 149 wheelchair-user spaces: 133 for home supporters and 16 in the away section. The home provision comprises 64 places on raised platforms and 69 pitchside positions.
• 300 easy-access and amenity seats: 200 are available in home areas, with up to 100 in the visiting section for ambulant disabled supporters.
• 14 accessible toilets: 12 serve home areas and two serve visiting supporters. There is also a Changing Places facility in the West Stand.

The stadium contains raised wheelchair platforms, pitch-level bays and companion provision.

The main lift entrances are Gate 6 for the East, Gate 17 for the South, Gate 33 for the West and home North, and Gate 46 for visitors. Gate 51 is the away pitch-level accessible entrance.

Hull City also offers a quiet room, ear-defender hire, sensory boxes, hidden-disability lanyards and familiarity tours.

Supporters should arrange accessible or amenity seating with the club before buying, as the most suitable area depends on sightline, transfer, step-free access and sensory requirements.

Choosing Your Seat At The MKM Stadium

The West gives the best elevated views and contains the premium facilities while the East has strong ordinary touchline seating and many long-established regulars.

The North is the current home end, while the South serves up a genuine family environment. Away supporters wrap around the north-east corner, with blocks N5 and E4 making up the liveliest home blocks beside them.
