While the Hill Dickinson Stadium is modern and accommodating, it will also keep Goodison Park’s sense of hostility. The stadium is noticeably steep, especially in the ‘Blue Wall’ in the North Stand, where the Upper Tier has a dizzying average gradient of 33.42 degrees.

One of many neat touches at the Hill Dickinson Stadium is that you can reach about three quarters of the stadium on a single concourse. This is possible in both the Lower Tier (Level 00) and the Upper Tier (Level 02).

So, if you’re in the North Stand and have a friend in the South Stand, there’s nothing to stop you meeting up pre-game or at half-time.

What Are the Stands at Hill Dickinson Stadium?

The four stands in the Hill Dickinson seating plan are the East Stand, South Stand, West Stand and North Stand.

Each brings something different to the matchday experience, from the exclusivity of Club View in the East Stand to the menacing South Stand, known as the Home End. We’ll begin with the East Stand:

East Stand at Hill Dickinson Stadium

On Regent Road, the outer facade of this stand at Hill Dickinson Stadium is the first thing you see when you arrive at this magnificent venue.

Greeting you in front of the East Stand is The Plaza, a giant paved area that will serve as the Everton fanzone. Pre-game you’ve got live music, food kiosks and thousands of Evertonians getting into the matchday mood.

Framing The Plaza is the enormous new Everton club store, a must-visit for Toffees fans attending their first Everton match.

For general admission tickets there are two spacious concourses on Level 00 and Level 02, linking with neighbouring stands. It’s a clever aspect of the Hill Dickinson Stadium layout.

The East Stand (along with the West Stand) is one of two stands at the Hill Dickinson to have a fourth interior storey, Level 03, in the Upper Tier.

Known as Club View, Blocks 321 to 324 are home to thousands of premium non-hospitality Everton tickets, set around the halfway line.

There’s a private concourse in Club View with awesome vistas, while a couple of the perks include a matchday programme and interactions with former Everton players.

Finally, at the north end, the East Stand contains a small portion of the away section, with its closed-off concourse on Level 1.

South Stand at Hill Dickinson Stadium

Everton Stadium’s South Stand may be the showpiece for the entire stadium. Like the South Stand at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, this part of the ground has the steepest allowable gradient in the Premier League, at a maximum of 35 degrees.

Everton’s idea is to make the South Stand the intimidating heartbeat of the stadium. This is helped by filling the entire Lower Tier with safe standing rail seats, all practically on top of the goal on the southern shortside.

The Upper Tier (Level 2) is accessed via a central entrance in the South Stand, or through twin turnstiles at the south end of the East and West Stands. They all lead to escalators to the upper storey.

One of the great things about this upper part of the stand is the concourse. This has a long, continuous bar and sweeping views of the Mersey and the centre of Liverpool to the south.

Outside, you will approach the South Stand along Everton Way, with engraved stones paying tribute to Toffees fans as well as Everton legends. The main Ticket Office is also here, in the south-east corner.

West Stand at Hill Dickinson Stadium

Backing onto the Mersey, the West Stand at the Hill Dickinson Stadium is mainly for Everton’s hospitality experiences, as well as the stadium’s player facilities and backhouse areas.

Despite its prestige, the West Stand still has a lot of general admission seating, especially in the north and south ends.

In the north you’ll be among Everton season ticket holders, with the Family Stand in the lower tier. Meanwhile the south end of the stand is next to the vast ‘Blue Wall’ of the South Stand.

That Family Stand bends around to include some of the North Stand, all with its own child-friendly concourse on Level 01.

Fans in the regular seats in the Upper Tier (Level (02) will be able to get to the concourse in both the South Stand and the North Stand. Elsewhere the upscale hospitality lounges in the West Stand will be off-limits of general admission tickets.

Hospitality seats dominate the centre of the stand on three levels. They range from the Beyond Tunnel Club feeding onto the pitch, to the sleek lounges of Dock on One on Level 1, and the hospitality boxes and Boardroom on Level 2. Finally you’ve got the vibrant Village Street on Level 3, with multiple bars.

Fans in the Upper Tier will enter through the Western Terrace, which has a lovely view over the River Mersey and some of the city skyline. Be here at sunset for an evening game in autumn or spring.

North Stand at Hill Dickinson Stadium

This two-tier stand contains the majority of the away section, which is next to the pitch in the north-east corner of the Lower Tier. The turnstiles feed directly into Blocks 118, 119 and 120 directly outside the North Stand.

As well as their own turnstiles, visiting supporters will have their own separate concourse on Level 1—another smart feature of the Hill Dickinson Stadium seating plan.

Home fans will enter the North Stand through turnstiles in the East Stand and West Stand, depending on where they’re sitting in the ground. The home concourse in the Lower Tier stands out for its single food kiosk with a bar spanning 13.42 metres or 44 feet.

The presence of away fans lifts the volume in the eastern part of the North Stand, as the home fans and away fans trade chants.

A little quieter, the official Family Stand is in the north-west corner on Level 1, connected to the West Stand by a single concourse.

This part of the ground neatly separated from the away section. Watching a match in the Family Stand comes with rules to create a more suitable environment for young Evertonians.

Again, on both Level 00 and Level 2 you'll be able to reach the East Stand, some of the West Stand and the South Stand on the concourse.

Will I Get Wet at the Hill Dickinson Stadium?

It is unlikely that you will get wet at the Everton Stadium. The steeply banked tiers and enclosed bowl, will keep the worst of the wind and the rain out of the ground.

There may be a slight exception in the pitch-side seats in the north-east corner, facing the prevailing wind, which blows off the Irish Sea from the west and south-west. If you’re in this part of the stadium it may be worth packing a poncho or waterproof.

Where Is the Best Place to Sit at Hill Dickinson Stadium?

South Stand: For the Best Atmosphere at the Hill Dickinson Stadium

At Everton every stand has a good atmosphere, but we should point out that the North Stand has been designed purposely to intimidate the opponents.

The ‘Blue Wall’ towers over the shortside north and is packed with more than 14,000 Evertonians with blue blood in their veins.

West Stand: For the Best View at the Hill Dickinson Stadium

The television cameras are in the West Stand at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, so this is the ideal place to be if you want a clear view, encompassing both goals and the dugouts below.

Now, there isn’t a single bad seat at the new Everton stadium. Stil, it’s no coincidence that most of the VIP seats are in the West Stand, clustered along the halfway line.

From Domingo’s and Village Street in the Upper Tier (Level 03) down to the Beyond Tunnel Club Level (00), the West Stand is the best place to be at Hill Dickinson Stadium for a luxury matchday.
