Welcome to our guide for the Amex Stadium seating plan. Brighton & Hove Albion FC’s stadium, often known by its original name, Falmer Stadium, holds 31,876 fans and opened before the 2011/12 season.

Before that time, BHAFC had no ground to call their own for 12 years, so Brighton fans are rightfully proud of their stadium.

As a completely modern Premier League football ground, the Amex Stadium has perfect sightlines throughout, and hosted UEFA Europa League football for the first time in 2023/24.

The stadium is nestled in the South Downs hills a few miles from Brighton’s city centre. To make the location a little more suitable for football fans, the club offers free local travel, and built a state-of-the-art fanzone in 2024.

So let’s get down to the Amex Stadium layout. Read on to find out where to go for the best views, and atmosphere, and we’ll also shed light on accessibility features.

What Are the Stands in the Amex Stadium?

The four stands at Brighton & Hove Albion’s stadium are the East Stand, South Stand, West Stand and North Stand. Although all the stands were built at the same time, there are key differences across the Amex Stadium seating plan:

East Stand at the Amex Stadium

Capacity: 13,654

Rows: About 35

The largest stand in the Amex Stadium layout, the two-tiered East Stand commands some of the best views of the pitch.

If you pick a spot on the halfway line in the East Stand (E1D, E1E, E3D, E3E), you have clear sightlines of the dugouts, the tunnel and both goals.

The Lower Tier at the East Stand, from blocks E1A to E1H, is Brighton’s dedicated Family Stand. With a maximum ratio of three adults to one child, the Family Stand has a gentler atmosphere on matchdays.

After the American Express Stadium opened, the East Stand was just a single tier with about 5,000 seats.

From 2012 to 2013, this stand was the focus of the expansion project, adding an extra tier and lifting the capacity by another 4,000 seats. Other additions are The Goldstone, an opulent matchday hospitality restaurant.

The newer East Upper tier has a steep gradient, which further enhances views. If you’re in East Lower, bring shades or a cap on sunny days as the sun hits this area of the Amex Stadium seating.

For EFL Cup and FA Cup matches, away fans may be allocated seats in the East Stand.

South Stand at the Amex Stadium

Capacity: 2,575

Rows: About 25

The Amex Stadium layout is unique in the Premier League for giving almost an entire stand to away fans. The away end at Brighton comprises Blocks S1B to S1F, served by turnstiles 28 and 29.

Visiting fans take up every section behind the goal in the South Stand, as a throwback to the 1980s and 1990s when away ends were more common in football stadiums. In 2024 Brighton & Hove Albion announced plans to rethink their allocation for away supporters.

Filling in the corners are small sections for Seagulls fans. If you enjoy sharing some banter with the visiting supporters, S1G to S1H, in the south-western corner of the stadium, is a fine place to sit.

Although you may feel a bit outnumbered by the travelling support, the atmosphere is intense in these sections and well worth the experience at least once.

South Stand also has plenty of upmarket seats, with a row of executive boxes at the top of the tier, and Heineken Lounge hospitality sections elevated above the home seats in the south-west corner.

West Stand at the Amex Stadium

Capacity: 11,833

Rows: About 35

Falmer Stadium’s three-tiered Main Stand is easily the most upmarket part of the ground. Reflecting this sense of prestige, most of Brighton’s matchday hospitality lounges are located in the West Stand, along with executive boxes on two levels.

Other important elements in the West Stand include the players’ tunnel, dugouts, press box and directors’ box, while the TV gantries are in this part of the Amex Stadium layout.

The West Stand offers clear views of the action in all blocks, but especially Blocks W2F, W2D, W3F and W3D in the middle and upper tiers. As is normal at all Premier League football stadiums, better views mean a quieter atmosphere.

There are exceptions on the south side of the West Stand: Blocks W1A and WAB benefit from being close to the away supporters in the South Stand.

If you’re sitting here expect a lot of light-hearted back and forth between the Seagulls faithful and the visitors.

Something similar applies to the north end of the stand, where Block W1I, W1H, W2I, and W3I all benefit from being next to the noisy North Stand BHAFC fans.

North Stand at the Amex Stadium

Capacity: 2,688

Rows: About 28

Packing fans into a single tier, the shortside North Stand at the Amex Stadium produces more noise than any other part of the ground.

A die-hard assortment of long-term Brighton season ticket holders assemble in this part of the ground. If you take a seat here, you have to be prepared to sing for 90+ minutes.

The atmosphere is helped by the absence of hospitality or premium seats, where people are less likely to chant non-stop.

For fans with mobility issues, we recommend choosing seating outside of the North Stand, as fans in this section typically stand throughout the match, which may obstruct views.

On the stand’s exterior, you’ll also find the Brighton & Hove Albion Superstore, as well as the brand new two-storey fanzone, opened in 2024/25. Home to the beloved Dick’s Bar and a range of dining options this is a place to meet up before and after games.

Where is the Best Place to Sit at the Amex Stadium?

The ideal stand for you depends on what you want to get out of the Amex Stadium seating plan. We’ll guide you through the choices:

The East Stand: For the Best Views at Brighton & Hove Albion

There are no bad seats at the Amex Stadium, but nothing beats the views from the halfway line in the East Stand.

For non-hospitality seats, you can’t do better than Blocks E3D, E3E, E1D and E1E, if you want to see every pass, tackle, dribble, foul and shot at Brighton matches.

The North Stand: For the Best Atmosphere at Brighton Matches

For Brighton & Hove Albion matchdays at their loudest, the North Stand is the place to be. Try to pick a seat behind the goal, around Blocks N1D, N1E, N1F or N1G and get ready to lose your voice the next day.

Again, remember that you don’t sit in the North Stand; you stand for 90 minutes, and Albion fans wouldn’t want it any other way.

The West Stand: For the Premium Brighton Matchday Experience

In the Amex Stadium seating plan there are padded hospitality seats dotted around three stands, but the highest number can be found in the West Stand. Matchday hospitality lounges in Brighton’s West Stand include:

  • Mullery’s Restaurant: Elegant small plates, pitch views, half-time cocktails
  • HB’s Restaurant: Three-course seasonal dining, champagne on arrival and tea & coffee at halftime
  • Bruno’s Restaurant: Half-way line seating, inclusive drinks, on-site parking included

The North Stand: For Quick Transport Links from the Amex Stadium

Out in the South Downs, Brighton’s ground is often rated as the worst in the Premier League for transport options. In 2023/24, a survey by The Athletic placed it 19th out of 20 clubs for location.

With that in mind it’s a good idea to get your Amex Stadium tickets for the North Stand, which is the closest to Falmer Railway Station, the main hub if you’re heading back to Brighton Station.

The East Stand: Ideal for Families at Amex Stadium

Ever since the new ground opened in 2011, Brighton have been praised for the way they accommodate families on matchdays.

A whole tier of the longside East Stand is reserved for families, which is almost unheard of in  the Premier League.

Nicely buffered from the away fans and most boisterous BHAFC supporters, it’s a peaceful haven for kids to

Amex Stadium Accessibility

  • Home wheelchair user spaces: 185, spread across various stands, including pitchside and raised platforms.
  • Away wheelchair user spaces: 17, all on a raised platform for Premier League away allocations.
  • Easy access and amenity seats: 727, in all parts of the Amex Stadium seating plan except the West Upper Tier.
  • Accessible toilets: 37 total (34 for home, 3 for away) across concourses, lounges, hospitality, and bars, plus a Changing Places facility.
  • Changing Places facility: Located in E2A, with full accessibility amenities including a height-adjustable bench and hoist.
  • Audio commentary: Available via receiver and headset, signed out from the BHAFC ticket office.
  • Sensory room: Inclusion Room offers a safe space for fans who may struggle to sit in the main stands. Available to all ages and disabilities.
