Leicester City football club moved to the 32,259-seater King Power Stadium in time for the 2002/03 season.

The new ground, next to the River Soar, is just a stone’s throw from the atmospheric but crumbling Filbert Street, which had been the Foxes’ home since 1891.

More than 20 seasons later, Leicester City’s stadium is still impressive to behold, with four single-tier stands all connected in a continuous bowl.

As a 21st-century ground, King Power Stadium tickets give you no restricted views, while the facilities, from concourse catering to accessibility, are above average for the Premier League.

So let’s explore the King Power Stadium seating plan, with in-depth info on the various stands, views, atmosphere and accessibility.

What Are the Stands in King Power Stadium?

The four stands at King Power Stadium are the East Stand, South Stand, West Stand, and North Stand. The away section overlaps with the North Stand and West Stand, but is also often listed separately as the “Away Stand”.

No two stands at Leicester City are the same, as we’ll explain now:

East Stand at King Power Stadium

Capacity: 9,000

Rows: About 36

On the longside, the East Stand has a more down-to-earth feel compared to the more upscale West Stand.

To illustrate, Block G1 at the south end of the stand, is right next to King Power Stadium’s singing section and picks up a lot of that matchday energy.

This is one of the most vibrant parts of Leicester City’s ground, with fan noise from kick-off to the final whistle.

At the north end, Block L1 has a similar kind of buzz, as it’s right next to the Away Stand. Sitting so close to the visiting supporters is not for the faint of heart, but safety will never be a problem.

Closer to the halfway line from Blocks H1 to K1 you get some of the best views in the stadium. This is where the television cameras and commentary gantries are located, so if you want a broadcast-quality perspective the heart of King Power’s East Stand is the place to be.

Back in 2023, Leicester City Council approved plans to revamp the East Stand, potentially lifting the stadium’s capacity to 40,000.

South Stand at King Power Stadium

Capacity: 7,000

Rows: About 36

Also known as the Spion Kop, the shortside South Stand is the spot if you want to rub shoulders with Foxes fans who are never shy about their support.

The loudest LCFC supporters have always congregated in this part of the King Power Stadium seating plan, but recently things have gone to another level.

Before 2022/23, after consulting with the fan group Union FS, the club designated Block SK1 as King Power Stadium’s official singing section. This scheme has continued, so be prepared to spend the whole match chanting if you sit here.

In 2024, Vichai Had a Dream and the pre-game anthem When You’re Smiling pack a real emotional punch from this end of the ground.

All that energy spills over into SK2 and SK3, so the South Stand is a glimpse of what the good old days were like at Filbert Street’s legendary Crazy Kop Corner.

West Stand at King Power Stadium

Capacity: 9,000

Rows: About 36

On the western longside, Leicester City’s main stand is the spot for you if you like some luxury with your matchday experience. With general admission tickets you get superior views and easygoing fans.

In truth, the atmosphere takes a back seat in the West Stand, which is no surprise due to the high number of hospitality and premium areas, all with deluxe padded seats.

You get a sensational view of the action, in a part of the King Power Stadium seating plan that includes the dugouts, Directors’ Box, players’ tunnel and the press box.

High up the stand on the halfway line there’s a large tab of premium general admission seating in the coveted First Floor area.

Finally, the King Power Stadium’s pitch-facing hospitality lounges are all tucked under the West Stand roof at the highest point in the stand.

North Stand at King Power Stadium

Capacity: 7,000

Rows: About 36

On the northern shortside of the King Power Stadium seating plan, the most versatile stand caters to a wide variety of Foxes fans.

First off, If you like a bit of an edge then Blocks P and P2 are right next to the Away Stand. Head here if you want an authentic Premier League matchday, with tit-for-tat chanting and a boisterous feel throughout.

The vibe is calmer as you head west, and indeed Blocks P2 and P3 are the King Power Stadium’s official Family Area.

This part of the stadium is designed to create a safe and fun environment for younger fans. To encourage this, adult-only groups are not allowed, and this rule may be enforced with spot checks of tickets.

Outside the north-west corner of the stadium is the Foxes Fanstore, a must-visit, especially if this is your first Leicester City match.

Away Stand at King Power Stadium

Capacity: 3,000+

Rows: About 36

In between the North Stand and East Stand, the Away Stand includes Blocks M1, M2, M3 and M4. Strictly speaking it is part of both stands, but we’ve created a separate section as many sources list an Away Stand.

The away blocks are fed by turnstiles 41 to 49, and the stand accommodates around 3,000+ visiting supporters. Compared to other Premier League away allocations, King Power Stadium is an excellent away day.

A big factor is that this section is tucked into the bowl, which is great for acoustics, allowing fans to make extra noise.

The views are completely unrestricted of course, and there’s a fine choice of food and drink counters on the concourse in the Away Stand. Don’t miss out on the Red Leicester Sausage Roll or the Butter Chicken Pie, for some top-notch football comfort food.

Where Is the Best Place to Sit at King Power Stadium?

This question depends on what you want from your Leicester City tickets. We’ll talk you through your options now.

The South Stand: For the Best Atmosphere at King Power Stadium

At the South Stand (Spion Kop), long-term Leicester City season ticket holders gather in Blocks SK1 to SK4 and are breathing new life into the stadium.

After that, L1 in the East Stand is a good option if you like to be next to the away supporters.

The North Stand: Ideal for Families

Not everybody wants to be surrounded by rowdy football supporters, and King Power Stadium’s Family Area has a sedate feel.

It’s close to the more laid-back West Stand, and is separated from the Away Stand by a couple of blocks.

The East Stand: For the Best King Power Stadium Views

If you don’t want to miss any of the action but don’t want to pay for hospitality, Blocks J1, J2 and J3 in the East Stand give you TV-worthy sightlines.

The West Stand: For the Luxury Leicester City Experience

As well as First Floor tickets, the West Stand is the part of the King Power Stadium seating reserved for hospitality.

In fact, all of LCFC’s hospitality lounges are accessed via a single dedicated Hospitality Entrance on Filbert Way.

We’ll briefly outline the main Leicester City hospitality lounges now:

  • The Gallery: Pitch-facing restaurant with scenic views, a lively atmosphere and attentive service
  • Premier Lounge: Directors’ Box seating and a brasserie-style buffet in an opulent setting.
  • Champions Club: Commemorating Leicester City’s stunning 2015/16 Premier League win, with a post-match visit from man of the match.

  • Banks Lounge: High in the stadium, with a vibrant, warm, and welcoming ambience in a more intimate space.
